Ennig Counselling

A Humanistic Existential Approach

Sometimes we all need some additional support to navigate difficult situations or emotions in order to move on in our lives or simply to feel part of things. I understand it takes courage to reach out for that support. As a counsellor and clinical supervisor, I offer a Humanistic Existential approach based on the philosophy of what it means to ‘be in the world’, confronted by limitations and responsibilities. As we focus on what it means to be you, in your world, I can help you explore where you are right now and where you would like to be? How you relate to people and to yourself? How you manage uncertainty, anxiety, endings or choices? The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is an important element of therapy, built through warmth, respect, non-judgment, compassion, openness and gentle challenge. Being heard in this way allows you to (re)discover who you are, understand what really matters to you and identify possible change.

Services

Talking Therapy

From 6 sessions to longer term, these 50 minute sessions can be held in person, online or by phone. I offer a confidential space and dedicated time for you to safely explore any issues of loss and grief, anxiety, relationships, identity, self-esteem, stress and/or any changes affecting you. As the expert in your life, you are in control as we collaboratively navigate your world.

As an experienced and trained trauma therapist, I can also provide support with managing panic attacks and flashbacks; grounding and coping strategies; psychoeducation, understanding and managing complex emotions, as well as striving for hope as you process difficult experiences. I have particular experience in working with those affected by rape and sexual violence.

Fees: £50 per session

Creative Therapy

With an arts background and interest, I can help you work through issues creatively, if you would like to. This could be shaped naturally over time or you may already have an idea as to how you would like to work. I regularly incorporate elements of art, photography, music, craft or writing within sessions, as appropriate. This is a client-led option.

I also work with artists and creatives exploring practice, process, motivation and/or obstacles to the development and expression of personal creativity. I’m happy to work online or in person.

Fees: £50 per session

Walking and Talking

Let’s go outside. Being in nature can help us to feel part of the wider world, allowing us to explore ideas of freedom, connection, belonging and much more.

I offer flexible sessions in and around the Black Mountain/Brecon Beacons area. Please contact me for more details.

Fees: £50 per session

Clinical Supervision

I offer a collaborative supervisee-led Humanistic Existential approach to supervision for qualified and trainee therapists, as well as other professionals, in line with BACP/NCPS requirements. With experience and interest in working with trauma-informed, creative and relational approaches, I can support you as you reflect, explore, develop and shape your practice. Sessions can be held online, face to face or outdoors.

Fees: £50 per hour (1.5 hours and 45 minute sessions are also available).

Concessions are available for student counsellors and those on a low income – subject to availability. Please enquire below.

All counselling sessions are available weekly or fortnightly.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation for you to get a sense of whether I might be the right fit for you and to answer any questions. Please contact me to arrange a convenient time for this conversation.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and clinical supervisor, fully insured and holding professional accredited membership status with the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society). I am neurodivergent affirming and an LGBTQIA+ ally.

Please leave a short message. I look forward to hearing from you.
